Who We Are

Tau Beta Sigma -
Eta Sigma
Tau Beta Sigma is our sister organization, and Eta Sigma, operating at Towson University, is our sister chapter. Their mission is to provide exceptional service to collegiate bands and promote equality and diversity, including empowering women in the band profession. Tau Beta Sigma was founded on March 26th, 1946 by Wava Banes Henry at Texas Tech University. The Eta Sigma Chapter was originally installed at Towson University on March 22nd, 1987. In the early 1990's the chapter disbanded and the members received alumni status or were absorbed into the Iota Delta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi. In February of 2008, Eta Sigma began the recolonization process with eight members: Genevieve Yost, Kristen Thewes, Carrie Lehman, Taryn Chase, Ashley Jones, Laura Fry, Heather Campbell, and Kristen Ulloa. At the colony's summer meeting they accepted a ninth member, Kelly Green. Eta Sigma was re-installed at Towson University on November 23rd, 2008.

Phi Mu Alpha - Sigma Tau
Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia is a music social fraternity, and Sigma Tau is their Towson University chapter. The fraternity is open to men who, through a love for music, can assist in the fulfillment of its object and ideals either by adopting music as a profession, or by working to advance the cause of music in America. Phi Mu Alpha was founded on October 6th, 1898 by Ossian Everett Mills at the New England Conservatory of Music. The Sigma Tau Chapter had been active at Towson University in the past, but it was not until 2014 that the chapter began its re-chartering process. Sigma Tau was officially colonized on April 2nd, 2017, with its 22 active members becoming the Alpha class: Greg Brice, Zachary Al-Radiedeh, Morgan House, Adam Falzarano, Daniel Eldred, Ian Wysham, Daniel Ostrow, Chris Lemmey, Nick Golden, Alex Schroeder, Nathan Morley, Mark Jenkins, Larnell Thomas, Tom Ferrone, Jeff Smith, Andrew Zile, Josh Jones, Jonathan Isaiah, Dylan Corcoran, Daniel Hershman, Tim Fletcher, and Zach Wilson.

Sigma Alpha Iota
Sigma Alpha Iota is an international music fraternity for women, and Nu Delta was their Towson University chapter. Their mission is to encourage, nurture and support the art of music. Sigma Alpha Iota was founded on June 12, 1903 at the University School of Music in Ann Arbor, Michigan!!
